Message They are definately more intercooler than necessary for stock turbos, but thats not to say stock turbos wont see signifigant benefits from them.

Ideally these smics are for Z's with signifigantly larger turbos.

Imho, if you are wanting to stay with smics and are getting signifigantly larger turbos , you are going to want to fit as much intercooler in there as you can. as long as its designed properly (ie more cooling channels and reasonable thickness with no excessive tube length) i see no problem with it.

Although the upper portion is blocked by the fascia, proper ducting will fix this by forcing air into the upper region utilizing the full ambient face of the smic, the slight angle of the smics wont make any difference in that respect.
